Memorial Tribute for Bowman Charles Gasparini

Bowman, originally named Charlie, was born in Anderson, South Carolina, on November 30, 2017. He joined his forever home on January 29, 2019, after his dad instantly fell in love from the moment he saw him. Bowman helped his dad graduate from Clemson University, whose mascot many say was inspired by Bowman himself, by encouraging him with meows through many late night study sessions. Bowman moved to Kennesaw, Georgia, in 2020, where he spent the next couple of years connecting with his family roots and giving his dad a reason to chase a paycheck. At different times, he lived with two other cats, Roxie and Jane, who at best tolerated his attitude toward his feminine feline housemates. Bowman then adventured to the wintery north, living in Syracuse, while his dad pursued his graduate degrees. After a year, Bowman said he had enough of the cold and followed his dad to Washington DC. Though he was not one for partisan politics, Bowman was never afraid to be vocal about his opinions. In 2024, Bowman’s family expanded after he moved in with his stepdad and stepsister, a black lab/pitbull mix named Riley. It took them a minute to adjust to one another, but Bowman found a lifelong friend in her. From his apartment window, he got to watch the busy streets of Washington, full of cars, birds, and city life. Bowman was a particular cat and didn’t enjoy: – Belly rubs – A misplaced litter box – Eating without company – Making friends with other cats Bowman excelled at many things but especially loved: – Nibbling on toes – Chasing laser pointers – Cuddling during coffee time – Scratching the corners of furniture – Finding the perfect sunspot to nap in Bowman was a kitty from South Carolina, who got to travel up and down the East Coast. He was the epitome of an orange tabby and a Southern gentleman. He was mischievous, loud, and strong-willed. Bowman passed away from a short battle with kidney disease on July 16, 2026. He was so very loved and will be greatly missed.
